PLEASE NOTE: All dancers, including former members of The Muny's AEA Dancing Chorus, will attend the open call auditions on Saturday, February 2.

Registration in the East Academic Building

Parking is available in Garden Park Plaza parking garage on Garden Avenue. Cars on permit-only lots will be towed.


Audition Specifics

It is recommended you arrive 45 minutes prior to call time in order to check-in and be warmed up and ready to dance. AEA members will be seen first in the group. Bring ID and Equity Membership Card (if applicable) and a current headshot and resume, stapled together. For performers age 18+.


Preparation

Dancers bring ballet, jazz, tap and character shoes. Men should also bring knee pads. Combinations will be taught by choreographers, and dance auditions will be in groups. Acrobatic skills welcomed. Dancers may be asked to sing, so prepare 16 and 32 bar cuts of two selections in styles appropriate to the shows. Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided.

Dancers should be available the entire day. Cuts will be made throughout the day. Besides regular callbacks, dancers may also be invited to attend additional callbacks on Saturday, February 2 from 5:00-8:00pm.

Schedule/Compensation

Performers are cast on a per-show basis. The Muny works with Actors’ Equity Association under the MSUA contract. All professional cast members are placed on an Equity contract and are eligible for full membership. 2013 chorus salary is $920 per week. Housing/per-diem for non-local performers is provided.
