Through our education and training initiatives The Muny brings musical theatre to local schools, offers a range of educational opportunities for young performers and provides unprecedented first-hand training and mentoring for young men and women hoping to develop a career onstage or offstage in one of the many vital roles that support musical theatre.
Acting for Musical Theatre
The Muny’s Acting for Musical Theatre program is offered to students in grades 3-8. The classes will help students develop the tools to meld acting with song and dance. Classes will include exercises, improv, and scene work. Students will gain increased confidence, spontaneity, and a freer imagination.
Make A Musical
Through the Make a Musical program The Muny has partnered with iTheatrics, to develop musical theatre programs in local middle schools underserved in this area of the Arts. The program is designed to evolve over a three-year span, with a new school added each year.
The Muny and Webster University’s Conservatory of Theatre Arts have joined forces to host a summer intensive for emerging young artists. This three-week program in St. Louis, Missouri invites rising junior and senior high school students from across the nation to participate in an immersive theatrical experience like no other!
The Muny Kids performing troupe serves as a goodwill ambassador to the people of St. Louis and the surrounding region. A performance and training ground for talented young people, the program spotlights children who demonstrate exceptional voice and dance talent, stage presence, dedication and discipline.

Technical Theatre Training
The Technical Theatre Training program is a new Muny initiative created to expand the network of craftsmen, artisans, and theatre professionals who work both locally and nationally in the entertainment industry. This program provides unprecedented training and mentorship to high school students in the industry of technical theatre helping to create a clear path for success in these fields after high school.
