After Tony Awards Triumph, The Muny Draws Nearly 344,000 Patrons in 2025

ST. LOUIS — The Muny’s 107th summer in Forest Park began with a national spotlight and ended with a joyous concert starring two music icons. In between, nearly 335,000 audience members experienced exceptional musical theatre under the stars.

“Who could have dreamed of a better start to the season than by winning a Tony Award?” said Muny President & CEO Kwofe Coleman. “Season 107 showed audiences why we received that honor — and then we celebrated with a memorable night of music led by Diana Ross and Jon Batiste. We couldn’t have done any of it without the continued support of the St. Louis community.”

The Muny announced May 7 that it would receive the 2025 Regional Theatre Tony Award. On May 16, an EF3 tornado moved through portions of St. Louis, leaving a path of destruction. A Tony Awards watch party June 8 at Ballpark Village raised $1,683 and collected hundreds of canned goods and supplies in support of storm relief efforts.

Season 107 of Broadway musicals, which ran June 16-Aug. 24, included Muny premieres of Bring It On: The Musical, Come From Away, Disney’s Frozen and Dear Evan Hansen, along with the highly anticipated returns of Evita, La Cage aux Folles and Jersey Boys.

“Muny 2025 was a joyous, thrilling, electrifying season,” said Muny Artistic Director & Executive Producer Mike Isaacson. “The Muny is a gift for all of St. Louis, and every artist, actor, creator and craftsperson who came to share their talents seemed profoundly alive in how lucky we all are.”

Total attendance for Season 107 was 334,792, which includes both paid admissions and entry provided through the “free seats” and Community Access program. Thanks to nearly 1,500 first-come, first-served nightly free seats and Community Access partnerships with St. Louis-area community service organizations, nearly 100,000 guests each year experience a Muny production at no cost. The Muny has a nightly seating capacity of nearly 11,000.

The Muny Community Access program is sponsored by the Crawford Taylor Foundation, US Bank and Felix’s Pizza Pub.

Of 51 scheduled performances in Season 107, none were canceled due to rain. The June 17 performance of Bring It On: The Musical was suspended after intermission because of rain.

Nearly 9,000 patrons attended The Muny Presents Diana Ross & Jon Batiste on Aug. 28.
