Here’s How To Get Free Seats for John Legend Concert at The Muny

John Legend

When The Muny presents its first live concert event in more than 30 years, another time-honored tradition will continue: the Muny free seats. Nearly 1,500 tickets will be made available free of charge for John Legend: A Night of Songs and Stories With the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, at 8 p.m. Sept. 7.

The Muny is partnering with the Lucky Seat platform to distribute tickets via a random digital drawing. To enter, users must create an account at luckyseat.com. Only one entry per person will be accepted. Duplicate entries and disposable email addresses will be discarded. Entries will be accepted from 10 a.m. CDT July 25 until 9:30 a.m. CDT Aug. 7.

Drawings for the free tickets will begin at 10 a.m. CDT Aug. 7 and will continue as needed. Winners will be notified via email with details about how to claim their tickets. There is a limit of two tickets per winner. Complete rules and terms are available at luckyseat.com and muny.org/johnlegend.

The free seats at The Muny — made available for every production on a first-come, first-served basis — are the last nine rows at the back of the theatre. For this special event, tickets for the free seats are available only through this online drawing.

“Eliminating barriers to entry is at the core of our mission, and our free seats have been a part of the Muny experience since our inception,” said Muny President & CEO Kwofe Coleman. “Nothing brings St. Louisans together quite like The Muny, and we’re proud to continue this tradition, allowing more members of our community to experience what will be a truly unforgettable evening. We’re also hopeful that concertgoers who have never experienced musical theatre at The Muny will be inspired to visit us again for another show.”

John Legend: A Night of Songs and Stories With the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will feature intimate reimaginings of Legend’s greatest hits (“All of Me,” “Ordinary People,” “Tonight”), unexpected stories from his life and career, and selections from his most recent release, LEGEND (“Nervous,” “Wonder Woman”).

For years, live concerts in the offseason were common at The Muny. The last one was by the Moody Blues and Kansas on Aug. 29, 1991. Other notable artists who have performed on the Muny stage include Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, Sting, Barry Manilow, Bob Dylan, the Allman Brothers and Hank Williams Jr.

Tickets for John Legend: A Night of Songs and Stories With the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra are $75-$300, plus the free seats. MetroTix is the only authorized vendor of Muny tickets.
