Broadhurst Pavilion

Group of people watching a performance inside the Broadhurst Pavilion

Before a Muny production appears on the main stage, actors and creative teams put the pieces together on the Broadhurst Pavilion. This state-of-the-art outdoor rehearsal space is located on the west side of our campus, adjacent to Purina Plaza.

Formerly known as the West Platform, the pavilion underwent an extensive renovation as part of our Second Century Capital Campaign, thanks to a $4 million gift from Barbara and Andrew Taylor. In 2021, the platform was named the Broadhurst Pavilion, in honor of the Taylors’ great-niece Allison Broadhurst, who spent many summers there as a Muny Kid and Teen, starting in 2011.

Pavilion upgrades include enhanced lighting, fans, a new floor with an operational turntable (the first of its kind in North America), landscaping and improvements to the prop storage warehouse located directly beneath the platform.

In addition to rehearsals, Broadhurst Pavilion is used as a performance stage for The Muny Kids and Teens and for private preshow events. In the off-season, the space serves as a gathering space for community and private events.
