William T. Kemper Foundation Light Bridge
High above the big Muny stage, you’ll see a steel support system that holds audio equipment and lots of lights — including our new remote-controlled spotlights. That’s the William T. Kemper Foundation Light Bridge, constructed as a result of our Second Century Capital Campaign.
The light bridge spans 183 feet and is supported on either end by the East and West Towers, which hold men’s and women’s orchestra rooms; sound, electric and prop rooms; and a house management office. The William T. Kemper Foundation Light Bridge replaced an aging cable-supported structure that had been in place since the 1930s.
