Meet the 2025 Muny Teens Performance Troupe
ST. LOUIS — The Muny is pleased to announce the 29 exceptional young artists who will participate this year in the esteemed Muny Teens troupe.
In addition to receiving professional theatre training, the students function as Muny performance ambassadors not only in the summer but year-round, reflecting the diverse community served by The Muny. Muny Teens also can be selected to perform in shows on the Muny stage.
The Muny Teens, who range in age from 14 to 18, are selected annually through auditions in January and February.
“I am truly honored to work with such a dynamic group of teenagers,” said Tali Allen, director of education at The Muny. “The Muny Teens receive learning opportunities that aren’t available elsewhere, and this year, we’re excited to welcome three guest choreographers who are also members of the creative teams for shows on our main stage. I can’t wait for the community to see this remarkable group in action!”
Three creative team members from the 2025 Muny season’s main stage productions will also be working with the Muny Teens as guest choreographers: William Carlos Angulo (choreographer, Jersey Boys), Patrick O’Neill (choreographer, Disney’s Frozen) and Gabi Stapula (associate choreographer, Dear Evan Hansen).

“Each production I’ve staged at The Muny has been elevated by the level of focus, passion, discipline and infectious joy that the Muny Teens bring — not to mention the remarkable skill and artistry they possess at such a young age,” Angulo said. “It’s been a longstanding goal of mine to create a piece especially for them, and I’m honored to finally have that opportunity!”
The Muny Kids and Muny Teens, the flagship programs of the Crawford Taylor Education Initiative, are a tour de force of young artists. Participants are trained in voice, dance, stage presence, craft, dedication and discipline. The 25 performers in the 2025 Muny Kids troupe were announced in March.
The programs were founded in 1994 and have produced many stars on and off the stage. Graduates attribute a number of tangible life skills to their participation.
