Based on the inspiring true story of the queen of Latin pop, Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio, On Your Feet! is a universal sensation that shows what can happen when two people believe in their talent, music and one another. Their moving rags-to-riches story features some of the most chart-topping songs of the past quarter-century, including “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “1-2-3,” “Coming Out of the Dark” and the title hit, “Get On Your Feet.” With this Muny premiere, audiences will leave ready to “Conga!”

Most widely recognized for the documentary Every Little Step, this three-time Helen Hayes Award-winner returns to The Muny after her “breathtaking” turn as Velma Kelly in Chicago, and her award-winning turn as Anita in West Side Story. is a choreographer, director, playwright and arts educator based in New York. He has collaborated with Manhattan Theatre Club, The Public Theater, Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, Ars Nova, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Milwaukee Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, Court Theatre, Marriott Theatre, Teatro Vista and more. He is currently under commission by Portland Center Stage, alongside Micha Rodriguez and Isaac Gómez to devise a new musical about their families. He has received residencies through The Jerome Robbins Foundation and Dance Lab New York (Broadway Dance Lab), and was the recipient of a Joseph Jefferson Award as well as the Alliance of Latinx Theatre Artists (ALTA) Award for Outstanding Choreography. He is a proud member of SDC.

In August, Tony-nominated sensation On Your Feet! congas onto The Muny stage for the first time. In September, the same cast heads west to get Kansas City Starlight audiences on their feet with the moving tale of Emilio and Gloria Estefan.

Their moving rags-to-riches story features some of their best songs, including “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “1-2-3,” “Coming Out of the Dark,” “Conga” and the title hit, “Get On Your Feet.”
On Your Feet! played on Broadway from 2015 to 2017 and in London’s West End in 2019. The production has toured the United States, Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Universally crowd-pleasing and uplifting, it is a portrait of a legendary artist that reveals fierce determination and visionary creativity matched with the exhilarating energy of the Miami Sound Machine.
